Highlights: The home is a fine example of classic Santa Fe style architecture which has preserved street-side curb appeal while installing a 5kW (24 panel) PV system using three different racking methods: ballast, 'high profile', and a wall mounted awning.
Dan admits they use more energy than absolutely required to support habits like a second refrigerator and a hot tub. However, with proper sizing and investment this system does completely offset the electrical needs for the home PLUS a self converted all-electric car providing CO2 free electricity and eliminating over 5000 annual miles of gasoline use around town.
